The ADSW Conference in June 2013 comes at a time when the services we deliver, all of which transform people’s lives every day, are themselves being subject to transformational change. Changing demographics, increased public expectation, unprecedented financial constraint and adapting to an increasing number of shared or integrated service arrangements all conspire to create challenges and opportunities for us all. In addition, the bills on children’s rights, selfdirected support and the integration of health and social care will have considerable significance for our services and the public we serve.

This Conference will focus on how we can work more creatively together to shape and deliver what is required of us. As the main focus of this year’s conference is forward looking, we want to encourage those who aspire to be tomorrow’s leaders in social work to join us. To this end, in addition to ensuring that you are given a warm welcome at the conference, we are offering a special rate for those attending conference for the first time. This special offer will be restricted so we would encourage you to book early. As always, the conference aims to challenge our thinking, stimulate debate and encourage the development of sound practice across sectors. Our excellent programme of speakers and workshops will inform continued reflection and discussion on many of our shared aspirations as well as the challenges we face.

We are repeating last year’s highly successful format of having a full two-day event to give greater value for money, along with interactive workshops on both days to enable delegates an opportunity to fully participate and have their say on the issues affecting them.
