Social Work Scotland - the creation of a new leadership organisation

Following a yearlong review of ADSW, members of the association voted last week to establish Social Work Scotland, a new leadership body for Social Work. The new organisation will be officially launched at the annual conference and exhibition in June.

Code of practice for Independent Living Fund published

The Independent Living Fund (ILF), the Association of Directors of Social Work (ADSW), and the Scottish Government are pleased to announce the publication of a joint code of practice. The code aims to enhance the effective delivery of the ILF’s transfer review programme to best support ILF users throughout the transition of their support to new arrangements from 1 April 2015. Developed in partnership with local authorities and disabled people and their organisations, the code sets out ten key principles to underpin partnership working between the ILF and local authorities in Scotland. The code underlines a clear commitment to the principles of personalisation and outcome focused independent living support. More..
