Delivering sustainable change in Adult Care in Scotland – issues for Social Work and Health

On 16th June 2011 in Edinburgh, ADSW and their sponsor, iMPOWER Consulting, ran a discussion event for senior social work and health colleagues to consider how to deliver sustainable change in adult services in the light of the  short  term, but much welcomed 'Change Fund' monies allocated by the Scottish Government.

Richard Jones, President of ADASS from 2010-11 in England, spoke on the lessons that could be shared from south of the border following the spending of the Social Care Reform Grant in England. Martin Routledge, formerly the National Programme Manager in England for the Transformation of Social Care at the Department of Health (now at 'In Control') shared his experiences from the health perspective. The President of ADSW, Andrew Lowe, the Vice Presdient Peter Macleod and the Past Presdient Michelle Miller were all present to lend their support to this crucial agenda.

The day ended with a discussion panel that included Highland council and Glasgow City Council managers- providing delegates with information on different approaches in relation to partnership practices
