The Standing Committee looks at issues affecting the community care services run by local authorities. Its remit is wide, covering areas such as care homes, learning disabilities, substance misuse, home care and physical disabilities.
Recently the committee has put a lot of energy into re-focussing the ground-breaking free personal care policy and supporting COSLA to negotiate the national care home fee rate.

The forthcoming agenda for the committee will focus on personalisation, unpaid carers, scrutiny and the COSLA, Scottish Care, Scottish Government funded study on the cost of care.
